For the past 23 years, United Way of Northwest Georgia has celebrated Make a Difference Day on the fourth Friday and Saturday in October. United Way hosted volunteer projects the week of October 23 - 28. Mannington Phenix and Marketing Alliance Group are this year’s Make a Difference Day Premier Sponsors.
Piet and Julian Dossche, United Way of Northwest Georgia Campaign Co-Chairs, announced the 2022-2023 Campaign Goal of $4.150 Million for Whitfield & Murray County at the Kickoff Party and CEO Trike Race last night at Burr Park.
United Way’s Volunteer Awards Ceremony, via Facebook Live, was about celebrating our incredible volunteers! United Way honors volunteers in Whitfield and Murray Counties whose service has exemplified a commitment to bring hope, promise, and opportunity to the lives of others.
For the first time in two years, it has begun to feel like our community is back to normal, or some form of “new normal” that we have all come to know. I am filled with gratitude that we were able to host our first Board of Directors meeting this year in person at our United Way office.
When I think of our local community, one word that comes to mind is: connection. Whether someone has grown up in this community or just moved here; the connection and a true sense of comradery are unmistakable.
