As the leaves turn glowing shades of autumn and the temperature reaches perfect outdoor weather for us to enjoy what fall in the south means, I take in all the beauty of Northwest Georgia. Fall, for me, is synonymous with the United Way campaign.

I don’t know about you, but it always seems like summer goes by faster each year.

We are hard at work gearing up for the 2022 United Way campaign! Under the very capable and passionate leadership of the Father-Son duo of Piet and Julian Dossche, I am confident we will have another successful campaign to meet the needs of our friends and neighbors.

School is out, summer is here, and vacation time is upon us. But the work doesn’t stop at United Way. Our volunteers are working diligently behind the scenes and prepping for this year’s campaign.

At United Way of Northwest, we are committed to supporting kids so they learn the literacy skills that lead to success in school, work, and life. Programs like Power Lunch, Summer Reading, and our Little Free Libraries help give kids access to books and build the skills they need.

The knowledge and skills kids learn today will set them up for long-term success, including college and career readiness. Supporting all kids now helps make our schools, workforce, and community stronger. Summer programs provide so much more to kids in our community than a chance to catch up academically.
