United Way Sets Record-Breaking $4.155 Million Goal
Our credo at United Way is to fight for the education, basic needs, and health of every person in our community. We know that change doesn’t happen alone. I am privileged to be surrounded by the best leaders in Northwest Georgia. I witness some of the busiest people I know make time and invest their resources to address our community’s most critical problems.
We are hard at work gearing up for the 2023 United Way campaign! Under the very passionate leadership of Kevin Wright, I am confident we will have another successful campaign to meet the needs of our friends and neighbors.
Get involved and tackle challenging issues in our community through service learning, teamwork, and volunteerism – that is just what thirteen local teens did on June 27-29 by participating in the United Way's GoLEAD service learning and leadership program.
The knowledge and skills kids learn today will prepare them for long-term success, including college and career readiness. Supporting all kids now helps make our schools, workforce, and community stronger. Summer programs provide so much more to kids in our community than a chance to catch up and stay on track academically.
United Way Northwest Georgia is mobilizing over 40 volunteers to Make A Difference on June 20 and 22 for United Way's Day of Action, an annual event that galvanizes the caring power of volunteers to create positive change across the world.
United Way honors volunteers in Whitfield and Murray counties whose service has exemplified a commitment to bring hope, promise, and opportunity to the lives of others.
United Way recently presented its corporate partners with the Power of Community Awards! These awards honor YOUR hard work and generosity over the last year and celebrate all we have accomplished together through the Power of Community. Campaign Co-Chairs, Piet and Julian Dossche, along with President Amanda Burt, thanked all the CEOs, campaign teams, and employees who supported United Way by giving, advocating, and volunteering.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I think about how fortunate we are to live in a community with a legacy of so many inspiring women. We do not have to look far in our community to find women with vision and a heart for service.
